A Proud Customer Pedigree

The Military Sealift Command is the arm of The U.S. Navy that is tasked with providing logistics and supplies to the war-fighters. Their supply vessels are staffed by military and civilian personnel, who in turn are serviced from a central warehouse located in San Diego, California. QED developed and installed data collection systems for the fleet of supply vessels that gave the capability for these ocean-going ships to communicate with the central warehouse and obtain replenishment orders, and also to utilize the QED-designed and developed warehouse inventory management system which incorporated barcode data collection devices and other logistics systems to improve the operations at the local level.

Southern California Edison, a large electric utility, wanted to obtain a more efficient method of data gathering at their remote generators, especially with regards to their maintenance schedules and upkeep. QED was selected to design and develop a mobile data collection system that required putting handheld devices into the hands of field maintenance personnel for equipment status reporting, leading to significant savings and preventative maintenance improvements.

Likewise, QED was the winner over a dozen competitors, when Lockheed Martin Aircraft Services decided to install a complicated Radio Frequency (RF) data collection system for the inventory management at their Ontario California facilities. This system was fully integrated with their mainframe-based host system.

The Hewlett Packard Company, Printer Division, wanted to improve their process control systems at their Rancho Bernardino, California plant. QED was selected to integrate touch screens, smart conveyor systems, product localization techniques and other assembly operator improvements to meet HP’s efficiency goals.

When The Callaway Golf Company, the home of the “Big Bertha” golf club, was seeking an IT partner with experience in advanced technologies such as RFID, bar coding, mobile data collection, and machine level process control, they called on QED to develop and execute these projects.

Padre Dam Municipal Water District, a California based quasi-public water provider, chose QED to design and develop a complex customer service and billing system that was fully integrated into their work-order, inventory management and accounting systems. This extensive project took over three years to design and deploy.

Titleist Golf, djOrtho, Marksman Products and Vista Irrigation Water District, among others, are also beneficiaries of our development and systems integration skills.
